“Tears filled my eyes, fear gripped my heart, as I said my long and painful goodbyes to the caregivers, and the boys that had become my brothers.”

OUR MISSION:

The immediate goal of Taps4Africa.org is to raise funds to support all necessary expenses for the Harare Children's Home and St. Joseph's Orphanage in Harare, where Taps was raised and spent his childhood. The expenses include: housing, meals, uniforms, books, field trips, medical care, utilities, generators, fuel, and much more. The next goal is to start a half-way house program for children who age-out of the orphanage system, so they aren't thrown out into the streets when they reach the age of 18. This program would train children in trades that will help them become self-sufficient as they become young adults. They will then train future generations of children as they near completion of their time within the orphanage system. As the organization expands, we hope to offer help to Children's Homes and Orphanages all over Zimbabwe and eventually the entire continent of Africa...

Taps intends to use his voice as both a motivational speaker and as a musician to give hope to children all over the world who are growing up in situations like his own. He will begin in Zimbabwe where his own journey started but hopes to eventually reach children all over Africa.
